Space: 1462 E. 53rd St.
Artist: Stephen Flemister
Medium: Mixed Media Installation
Description: madeSource is replicating the interactive experience by immersing pedestrians into a fabric of consenting and involuntary profiles as source material for mixed media pieces. Captured from three recording cameras, pedestrians become malleable made images, randomly selected from screenshots that are later printed and marked with charcoal, paint and text messages shared by the participating. The degradation and reconstruction of the digital image captured and the manipulation and repurposing of the image, reconditions the identity of the subject.
